Pre - Kindergarten Lead Teacher

Responsibilities:


1. Education & Certification:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (required).
  • Current state teaching license or certification for Pre-K, if applicable.
  • CDA Credential may be acceptable in combination with relevant experience, based on program standards.

2. Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience with preschool or Pre-K children in a licensed early childhood education setting.
  • Experience in a quality-rated, Step Up to Quality (or equivalent) program preferred.

3. Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Proficiency in implementing curriculum aligned with state early learning standards.
  • Familiarity with assessment tools such as Teaching Strategies GOLD, Ages & Stages, or similar.
  • Ability to create inclusive, engaging, and nurturing learning environments.

4. Communication & Leadership:

  • Excellent communication skills with children, families, and staff.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with families and co-teachers.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including collaboration, mentoring, and classroom management.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.

5. Additional Requirements:

  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
  • Background check and state registry clearance.
  • Physical stamina to meet the demands of active engagement with young children.Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; additional coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with young children preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • A nurturing and patient demeanor.

Support Teachers

Responsibilities:

1. Child Supervision and Engagement

  • Actively supervise and engage with children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times
  • Support children’s social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development through play and interaction
  • Foster a warm, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere

2. Classroom Support

  • Assist lead and assistant teachers in implementing daily routines and schedules
  • Help set up and clean up classroom activities and materials
  • Provide support during transitions (e.g., arrival, departure, meals, naps, and outdoor play)

3. Health and Safety

  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
  • Follow all center policies and licensing regulations related to health, safety, and sanitation
  • Assist with diapering, toileting, and handwashing routines as needed

4. Communication and Teamwork

  • Collaborate with teaching teams to ensure consistency and continuity of care
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with children, families, and coworkers
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development as required

5. Flexibility and Reliability

  • Provide coverage in various classrooms and age groups based on daily staffing needs
  • Respond to changing priorities and support the overall functioning of the centerQualifications:
